Plymouth's clean and green campaign aims to help communities improve their local environment through activities such as community clean ups and reporting environmental crimes such as graffiti, illegally dumped rubbish and abandoned vehicles.
Anybody can get involved in a clean up event, such as individuals, groups of friends and neighbours, church groups, scouts, guides, clubs and schools. All you need is the enthusiasm to improve the place where you live, work or study. We will provide you with all the equipment you need, such as, gloves, litter picking tongs, bag holders and bags. We will also provide brooms, shovels, wheelbarrows and gardening tools when required. We will give you lots of advice on how to run a successful, safe and fun event and of course take away all the collected rubbish. If you are a school we can also offer classroom workshops about litter.
For more information or to organise an event please contact the Clean and Green Officer, on 01752 304787.
To report an environmental crime simply complete our cleaner streets online form or contact us.
Litter is a big problem but we can all help keep Plymouth clean and tidy. The Keep Britain Tidy campaign aims to get the entire country cleaning up. We have linked our clean up events to the national Big Tidy Up campaign - to find out more about this campaign and to register your event simply visit The Big Tidy Up website.
