Local Development Framework

…one of Europe’s finest, most vibrant waterfront cities…"

A Local Development Framework (LDF) is a set of documents which guide planning and development in a local authority’s area until 2021 and beyond. In Plymouth, however, our Local Development Framework is much more. It spearheads the Council’s efforts to transform the city into a thriving, successful, attractive and sustainable place for people to live and do business. In 2006 we won the The Royal Town Planning Institute Silver Jubilee Cup for our LDF programme, and since then we have adopted more Development Plan Documents than any other local authority in England.

From this page you can explore the Plymouth LDF and find out more about the documents which make up the Local Development Framework. Use the links below to go straight to our hot topics and live consultations, or the popular pages links to jump to our adopted documents. Make sure you return to this page regularly to keep up to date with the latest news.
