Central Library

Jubilee bank holiday
This library will be closed for the Jubilee bank holiday on Monday 4 and Tuesday 5 June 2012.

The Central Library is near Drake Circus roundabout, next to the Museum and opposite the University.

Adult fiction and non-fiction books to borrow, including collections of audio books, large print books and books in other languages.

Children's library with fiction, non-fiction and picture books to borrow, computers, story and music CDs and family sharing collection.

Young people's section including fiction, graphic novels and Manga.

Large collections of CDs and DVDs (including Blu-Ray) to hire.

First floor

Computers with Internet and MS Office free for up to two hours per day.

The quiet room

Study space, quick reference books, directories, Europe Direct, Intellectual property information, Newspapers and magazines.

The history room

Collection of books, maps, directories, journals and pamphlets relating to Plymouth's history. Plus everything you need for researching your family tree. Including parish registers and census returns for Plymouth, plus the GRO Registers of Births, Marriages and Deaths. Free access online to Ancestry Library Edition and Find My Past.
