Kinterbury Creek County Wildlife Site
Kinterbury Creek is located in the west of Plymouth, along the Tamar Estuary. The site covers 8.5ha and is owned and managed by Plymouth City Council and is accessible to the public. Wedged between two housing estates the site consists of a small estuarine creek, Kiln bay surrounded by an area of woodland, grassland, mudflats and saltmarsh.
The site is designated as a County Wildlife Site because of the interest in its maritime habitats, with 2ha of mudflats and some small pockets of rocky foreshore, saltmarsh and reed bed. In addition the site holds a number of Devon Notable species including common cord grass, sea purslane, common saltmarsh grass, salicornia spp, annual sea blite, sea aster and sea couch.
