The Diving Diseases Research Centre was established in 1980 to research the effects of diving on human physiology. It is the largest and busiest Hyperbaric Medical Centre in the South West.
'The Diving Diseases Research Centre (DDRC) was the first organisation to move to the Tamar Science Park when the Hyperbaric Medical Centre was built in 1996. Since that time, we have seen the steady growth of Tamar Science Park into a highly innovative and intellectually motivated community which has thrived on professional association and the generation of new ideas. DDRC has certainly benefited from the support it has received particularly because of the proximity of businesses which are leaders in their chosen fields and from Tamar Science Park's wider perception as a centre of excellence for IT-orientated businesses.'
Karena Pring
Chief Executive, Diving Diseases Research Centre
