Could you be the family for Melanie?

Melanie is a seven year old girl. She sees herself as white British, however, her father may have been from Iran. Melanie is a bubbly, caring and affectionate little girl. She is fun to be with and loves to be busy. She can be shy when she meets someone new but once she knows them she responds to them appropriately. She has a lovely sense of humour and wants to please.

Likes and dislikes

Melanie loves to dance and has been involved with a couple of productions on stage. She attends dance classes weekly. She loves the colour pink and to wear sparkly clothes.

Health and development

Melanie is a healthy young child with no known health issues. She is meeting all her developmental milestones.

Behaviour and attachments

Melanie does lack self-esteem and needs encouragement to come out of herself. She has an insecure attachment to her mother but has formed a good attachment to her foster carer.

Education

Melanie is achieving well at school. She is on target or above with her SATS. She enjoys school and has lots of friends. She is an achiever and works hard.

Contact with birth family

Contact will be indirect, once a year, each way to include photographs.

Family needed

Melanie needs a family who can encourage her activities which build her self-esteem. She will need a family who have time to listen to her and help her understand her past and positively promote her dual heritage.
