As soon as you property becomes empty please let us know by writing to the national non domestic rates section or telephone us on 01752 304966 or 01752 304897 (between 9am and 5pm Monday to Friday) or by completing the change of circumstance form.
Always quote your payment reference number. It helps us deal with your enquiry quickly.
All stock and effects have to be removed before we can cease your liability to business rates. Fixtures and fittings or items that are permanently fixed to the wall or floor are not classed as stock.

An inspector will need access to the premises to confirm that it is empty before we can close your account.
When you call us the following information is required:
If you have vacated the property and it has not been sold or the lease has not ceased, you may be able to apply for empty property rates. This exemption can last for a period of up to three months after the date you vacate the property.
If you have sold your property or the lease has ceased please let us know immediately (see above for the information we need).
If you are a landlord and you have let your property or you are a tenant and have sublet your premises, please let us know the following:
