Riverside Primary School

Approval was granted on 7 September 2006 to build a new 'state of the art' primary school to replace Bull Point and Barne Barton Primaries. The new school is called the 'Riverside Community Primary School'.

Building the primary school as part of the PFI project has placed the school at the heart of the regeneration and renewal of the local community.

Housed in a modern building, the new school will overcome barriers to learning that are often handed down through the generations. Promoting excellence and attainment for all, the school will play a key role in encouraging participation in lifelong learning both for economic purposes and pleasure. This is achieved through extended opening hours, wrap-around care opportunities and range of adult and community learning activities.

BRE's Environmental Assessment Method (BREEAM) is used to assess the environmental impact of new and existing buildings. It is regarded by the UK's construction and property sectors as the measure of best practice in environmental design and management. Read the BREEAM report in the documents table below to view the current scoring of Riverside Community Primary School.
