Sandalled Anemone

The Sandalled Anemone (Actinothoe sphyrodeta) belongs to the Phylum Cnidaria that includes sea anemones, corals and jellyfish. The mouth is in the middle of the oral disk surrounded by tentacles armed with many cnidocytes, cells that contain poison and explode into either prey or predators. Sea anemones prey on small fish and shrimp.
