Stepping Stones to Nature is supporting local residents to form a new community group, which will help look after Forder Valley Local Nature Reserve. We've already had lots of support from local residents who have been on site:
- doing practical conservation tasks and community clean-ups
- organising and running activities to promote nature
- doing wildlife surveys and monitoring biodiversity
- supporting local schools and other organisations/groups to use the nature reserve for education.
We had our first meeting just before summer 2010 where we talked about activities during school holidays. See our events page for more information about what's going on.
We plan to meet regularly as a group and we'd love to have new members, whatever time you have to spare and whatever skills you have!
