Understanding Child Protection (CPF)
The Plymouth Safeguarding Children Board (PSCB) offers a range of up-to-date statutory training in areas of Best Practice concerning Safeguarding Children and Child Protection. All courses are inter-agency, offering participants the opportunity to meet practitioners and managers from a variety of agencies, to better understand the essential inter-agency nature of all child protection work in Plymouth.
Understanding Child Protection (CPF) is the gateway course to all PSCB training and learning opportunities. Once completed, successful participants can access all other PSCB courses.
This course offers detailed instruction on the legal context of Safeguarding and Child Protection in England, the signs and symptoms of child abuse, the contemporary legal framework for the welfare of the child, current procedures including common assessment and child protection investigations, and explanations of the lead agencies and how to manage concerns within the multi-agency context.
