Victim support
The service provides free and confidential information, practical help and emotional support for anyone affected by domestic abuse (whether or not the police are involved). Local and national help lines, local support workers and information about court procedures and support at court is available. Local caseworkers can arrange meetings at any safe, convenient location.
Victim support is there to help you in various ways:
- information and advice
- signposting to other agencies
- emotional support
- help with the practicalities
- personal safety information
- information on the criminal justice system
- accompany you to Court and provide and safe and private place to wait
- help you to apply for criminal injuries compensation
This service can be accessed by letter, telephone, email or or by visiting the victim support website.
