Change of circumstances
You must notify us of any changes in your circumstances straight away. This is to stop the risk of you being paid too much benefit and having to pay it back. Some examples of changes in circumstance that could effect your claim are:
- You move accommodation, including changing your room or flat within a property
- You or your partner's income goes up or down
- You or your partner's savings go up or down
- You or your partner start or stop working
- You or your partner's benefits change
- Aanyone joins or leaves your household
- The rent you pay changes
- The income or capital of any non-dependant in your household changes
To notify us of any changes you can either telephone, email us or complete the change of circumstance form. By using the change of circumstance form we can accept your information and work on it right away without needing a signature from yourself (although you may have to provide us with further evidence of your change, for example, new payslips).
