BID projects
As a BID designed by retailers we pride ourselves on being made up of different projects for business improvement within the city centre.
These projects include:
Marketing and public relations (PR)
A new five year marketing plan will be developed. Targeting new markets, including tourism and also retaining our existing marketing share.
Promoting major attractions
We will promote the city centre as an exciting venue for events and new attractions as a method of driving footfall and generating additional retail spend in particular the day visitor and tourist market. We will explore the concept of a year round festival.
Plymouth Against Retail Crime (PARC) and BID member discounts
The new BID will respond directly to the current economic climate by delivering a series of projects that will reduce business costs associated with trading in a city centre environment, contributing to enhanced business profitability.
A safer city centre
We will create a city centre which is known for being family friendly, building upon our track record of delivering highly visible community policing.
Events and Christmas lights
The new BID will create a 'customer experience worth having' from arrival in the city centre through to departure, designed to exceed shopper expectations, increase dwell time, sales, loyalty and pride.
New ideas for a new BID
To remain competitive responding to modern 21st century shopping habits, retailers have identified a number of new projects that will provide Plymouth with a competitive edge. These projects are all about service and the visitor experience.
For more information on any of these projects please see our Business Plan page.
