Business rates

Plymouth City Council administers national non domestic rates but has to work to regulations controlled by Central Government. Visit the Department for Transport, Local Government and the Regions website for a full guide to business rates.

This section of the website is to give you, the customer, immediate access to the services provided by the Business Rates department within Plymouth City Council and answers to your questions.

One of the services we offer is being able to pay business rates online.

If you wish to see a business rates officer please telephone the non domestic rate section on the numbers in the right column before calling at the Civic Centre. We will arrange a mutually convenient time for an appointment between 9am to 4pm - Monday to Friday.

If you do not telephone before visiting the Civic Centre a member of staff may not be able to see you, particularly during busy periods. We would welcome your comments on this site and our service, whether they are positive or negative, and suggestions of how you feel we can improve our service.
