Aiming high for Disabled Children Strategic Oversight Group
Aiming High for Disabled Children (AHDC) is a central government transformation programme launched in May 2007. The programme has several individual strands to be delivered, alongside shared requirements to deliver a Core Offer to disabled children and families. In addition, a new Disabled Children’s National Indicator (NI54) is launched in 2009.
There are many partners, teams, agencies involved in Plymouth's successful delivery of AHDC. Therefore there is a need to coordinate this work. The Strategic Oversight Group will provide a partnership forum whereby we will be able to develop a shared framework and implementation plan for AHDC. It will provide a forum for the range of groups working on specific AHDC strands to report back on progress and access guidance on direction of travel.
Aims of the group
- To provide a partnership forum to oversee the delivery of Aiming High for Disabled Children in Plymouth.
- To support, monitor and challenge the work associated with AHDC in order to be able to produce positive outcomes for children and their families.
- To provide expertise, advice, guidance and support to specific working groups in order to meet the objectives, outcomes and milestones laid out in the AHDC Implementation Plan.
Frequency of meetings
The group meets every three months.
