Composting and garden waste
Why compost?
If garden rubbish such as leaves, grass, prunings or flowers goes into your normal rubbish bin, this waste ends up in a landfill site.
As the waste breaks down underground it produces methane gas, which contributes to global climate change.
It is much better for the environment to compost this waste instead.
How do I compost?
You can either compost the waste at home or let us do the work for you, using either one of the recycling centres or our garden waste collection service if you live in an area covered by the scheme.
