Composting at home
The most environmentally friendly way of dealing with your garden waste is to compost it at home and it means that you have a ready supply of nutrient rich soil improver to use on your garden.
It's very easy to build your own composting area/heap. Good advice on how to get started is available from the Royal Horticultural Society, Garden Organic and the Waste Resources Action Programme (WRAP) websites.
We are able to offer Plymouth residents a choice of discounted compost bins from only £12.50, in partnership with Original Organics. We can also offer advice. Download our home composting leaflet below, or contact us for further information. To order a bin call the Original Organics hotline on 0808 120 9676 quoting the 'Plymouth offer'.
