Lipson Vale Update July 2011
We are pleased to be able to announce that ongoing land investigation works in the Lipson Vale area that began in 2008 are now complete.
In 2010, it was discovered that pockets of surface soil in the area contained lead, possibly as a result of historic rubbish tipping activity. We appointed contractors to carry out a full survey including soil testing, soil vapour and gas monitoring in residential housing areas closest to old tipped areas.
The results of the survey have been favourable. They show that past activities in the Lipson Vale area have had very little effect on soil quality, so we have recently been able to issue advice that garden areas are safe to use normally.
We will now contact property search providers to inform them that we no longer have any concerns about land quality in the Lipson Vale area and we hope that residents are reassured by the good news.
We would like to thank all Lipson Vale residents for their support since our work in the area started. All of your help and understanding has been very much appreciated.
Where possible we will do our best to update this page on a monthly basis with any more information.
If you have any questions please contact us.
