Consultation and community involvement
Extensive consultation took place for the completed section of the project from Torpoint Ferry through to Stoke Damerel Community College. The consultation involved local councillors, community members and cyclists who use these routes and resulted in a successful scheme proposal. With the number of people cycling each year steadily increasing, it is important that the routes and infrastructure encourage even more people to walk and cycle. Working with the community to get this right is key to the success of this project overall.
Information about the progress of the scheme and any current community consultation will be made available for each section of the projects as it develops. Visit the progress and current consultation page to find out more.
As part of the community involvement activities a steering group will be set up to help promote the project, engage local communities and help in the decision making process. For more information please visit the steering group page.
