One Planet Living Centre Building
The One Planet Living Centre (OPLC) building and its associated outdoor areas will be located in the proposed Derriford Community Park.
“The OPLC should not only promote and educate about the principles of One Planet Living but should also provide the facilities and means with which to help actually live by them”.
The OPLC will have 4 key aims:
- To support and enhance the park through its ethos and through income generation
- Designed, constructed and operated in accordance with the 10 principles of ‘One Planet Living’
- To educate and promote ‘One Planet Living’
- To provide a facility that facilitates ‘One Planet Living’.
There are 10 principles for One Planet Living building which are:
- Zero carbon
- Zero waste
- Sustainable transport
- Sustainable materials
- Local and sustainable food
- Sustainable water
- Land and wildlife
- Culture and heritage
- Equity and local economy
- Health and happiness
