Pre Submission
The Pre-Submission Derriford and Seaton Area Action Plan was approved at Full Council on 31 January 2011 and a six week consultation was held from Wednesday 16 February to Wednesday 30 March 2011.
Information was displayed within the libraries across the city, and permanent exhibitions were available at the Civic Centre, Windsor House and also at the George Park and Ride, Tavistock Road. There were also two consultation events where people were able to speak to officers, read the document and make comments. These events were as follows:
- Tuesday 1 March, 10am to 5pm - B&Q car park
- Thursday 17 March, 10am to 1pm - B&Q car park, and then outside the Future Inn Hotel, William Prance Road, from 1.30pm to 5pm
A leaflet was produced, alongside the Derriford and Seaton Pre-Submission AAP, which highlighted some of the main changes that have been made to the plan since the last consultation in February 2009.
A Regulation 27 Statement details the consultation which took place prior to the consultation on the Pre-Submission Derriford and Seaton AAP.
What happens next?
The Council has now viewed all of the comments received during the consultation and the report which summarises these comments can be viewed below. You can view the AAP and the comments that were made in full on the consultation portal.
During the Pre-Submission consultation a number of helpful comments were received that will improve the plan and questions were raised by stakeholders that require the preparation of further evidence base studies to inform the Area Action Plan. These evidence base documents are now being prepared and will be published in due course.
In making any changes to the draft plan, the Council will continue to engage with relevant key stakeholders, local traders and interested persons to ensure broad support for the AAP is maintained. During August 2012, a second Pre-Submission consultation will take place where everyone will be given the opportunity to comment on the Area Action Plan, including any changes that have been made before the plan is submitted to the Inspector for its Public Examination, leading to adoption.
