Helping you stay independent at home

A means tested grants may be available to those living throughout the city to help pay for essential adaptations to make it easier for you to manage in your home.

The maximum grant available per application for eligible works is £30,000. We can help determine what work is necessary and appropriate to meet your needs.

If you or a family member are disabled, have any impairment and/or are unable to maintain independence in your own home, you may be eligible for a grant.

If you are referred to the Occupational Therapist, they will make an appointment with you to carry out an assessment. During the assessment they will discuss your individual needs and how they can best be addressed. This can include care packages, adaptations or other measures.

If you already have an Occupational Therapist you should discuss your needs with them, who will assess your need for referral to the Major Adaptations Team.
