Consultation undertaken
East End Transport Scheme public consultation - September 2009
Consultation on the East End Transport Scheme was held throughout August and September 2009.
Plymouth City Council has been looking at ways to provide priority for public transport along the Eastern Corridor and how to improve the management of traffic, pedestrian access and cycling links within and through the East End area.
The purpose of the consultation was to seek views on the more detailed plans for the area prior to finalisation of the designs. Households and businesses of the East End received a consultation brochure containing all the relevant information about the scheme with follow-up exhibitions held within the area. The consultation brochure can be downloaded below:
The report on the results of this consultation are now available below:
The East End response to Eastern Corridor consultation 2008
Consultation on the CIF proposals was undertaken as part of the Phase 1 public consultation on the Eastern Corridor HQPT Major Scheme that took place in July/August 2008.
Out of the 26,000 brochures and questionnaires that were sent out as part of the wider Eastern Corridor consultation, approximately 4,450 were delivered to the East End area; this included residents, businesses, Ward Members and other key stakeholders, achieving a response rate of 11 per cent. A fully staffed exhibition was also held within the local East End community where residents were able to view the proposals in more detail, ask questions and provide comment. The CIF proposals were developed following the Eastern Corridor Study (2005), the subsequent work on the Eastern Corridor Major Scheme and regular community meetings including the East End Transport Community Liaison Group and a workshop held in October 2007.
The CIF consultation reports
The CIF consultation report part A provides a brief background to the Community Infrastructure Fund (CIF) bid and the results from the Phase 1 public consultation on the Eastern Corridor HQPT Major Scheme. The report summarises the results of the consultation, focusing on the responses received related to the East End area of the city. These responses were used to inform the CIF bid ahead of the wider proposals for the Eastern Corridor HQPT Major Scheme.
The CIF consultation report part B discusses the recommendations made in the part A report and provides a full response from Plymouth City Council to the main issues raised during the consultation.
The CIF consultation report part A and part B, along with plans showing the original improvements proposed in the CIF Bid can be accessed from the documents table below.
