Ernesettle Primary School

Ernesettle Community Primary School officially opened its doors to the new pupils in September 2008.

The new school includes a nursery, children's centre and Mill Ford Special School. The building is part two storey and part single storey, sited on the grounds of the existing Ernesettle Community Primary School. The buildings consist of classrooms, hall, library, specialist rooms, offices and staff rooms, kitchen and circulation areas. The external areas will include a playing pitch, hard and soft informal areas, landscaping, car parking and access road for deliveries.

BRE's Environmental Assessment Method (BREEAM) is used to assess the environmental impacts of new and existing buildings. It is regarded by the UK's construction and property sectors as the measure of best practice in environmental design and management. The Riverside, Ernesettle and Shakespeare School projects are aiming to achieve a 'very good' rating of between 55 and 70 per cent. Initial assessments on the schools show this is achievable. The final score will be assessed at the completion of the project and published at that time. See the BREEAM document below to view the current scoring.
