Site facilities

First Devon and Cornwall, the operator of the park and ride service, have staff on site from 6.15am to 7.15pm daily.

The terminal building provides customers with toilet and shower facilities and refreshment vending machines and is manned by First from 6.15am to 7.15pm daily.

Route and service details

The service operates from the George to the city centre via Tavistock Road (Future Inn), the Milehouse park and ride site, Saltash Road (Railway Station/North Cross), Mayflower Street, Western Approach, Union Street and Royal Parade (stop A12). The return route from Royal Parade (stop A12) is via The Viaduct (stop B1), Charles Street (Drake Circus), Coburg Street, Saltash Road (Railway Station), Milehouse park and ride site, Tavistock Road (B&Q) and the George.

The George park and ride service starts at 6.30am from the George Junction (Monday to Friday excluding bank holidays), or 6.45am (Saturdays) and is numbered PR1. It runs from the George every 10 minutes Monday to Friday, and every 12 minutes Saturdays, until the last departure at 6pm.

From the city centre (Royal Parade) the service starts at 7am and runs every 10 minutes until the last departure at 6.30pm.

There are no park and ride services on Sundays and bank holidays.

The exit from the George site does not get locked and people can access their cars at any time.

Don't worry if you miss the last park and ride bus - just catch First bus service 86.

Citybus services 46 and 47 also call at the George park and ride providing links to many other areas of the city.

From the A386 southbound

  • Head south on Tavistock Road/A386 toward Plymouth
  • At Woolwell Roundabout, take the 2nd exit (towards the city centre) and stay on Tavistock Road/A386
  • After about 0.3 miles turn left into the George Junction park and ride site

A second entrance to the George park and ride from Plymbridge Road is now open, making it easier for customers to access the site from this direction.

  • Adult single: George to city centre - £2.35
  • Adult return to city centre - £2.55
  • Adult 10 return journey ticket - £20
  • Family return (maximum of five people, no more than two adults) - £4.70
  • Football special fare for Plymouth Argyle - £1 return (Saturdays only)

Fares apply all day. There are no peak and off peak fares.
