Community and living
Every aspect of life in Plymouth is touched or shaped in some way by the work carried out by the City Council.
With a staff of more than 11,000 people, we are responsible for a wide range of services from teaching children to keeping the streets free of litter.
We see residents through the good times, with everything from the Register Office for weddings to licensing for nightclubs and a full range of sports facilities, as well as the bad - helping the homeless and providing child protection.
Staff work hard to ensure that residents as well as visitors get the most out of the city. We are constantly looking at ways to improve our services and to enable the whole community to shape service delivery and the city's future.
We work in close partnership with the community and a wide range of public, private and voluntary organisations to improve services, reduce crime, and generally make Plymouth a better place to live and work.
In this section you'll find information about local organisations, neighbourhood projects and services for the community, as well as useful links and advice on lots of topics, from managing your money to foreign travel.
