Environment and planning
We are committed to maintaining and improving the local built and natural environment to ensure that Plymouth remains an attractive place to live and work.
We provide a number of services dedicated to environmental protection, including waste collection and disposal and the conservation of our built and natural environment.
We also have a regulatory role in protecting our working and living environment, for example in pest control, noise control, business and trading standards and planning control.
You will find lots of useful information on these pages, including advice on planning applications, food safety and consumer issues as well as animal welfare and pest control.
There is a detailed section on recycling in the city and ways to reduce your household waste and information on how we tackle problems such as graffiti, flyposting, dumped rubbish and abandoned cars. There is also an online form which you can use to report such incidents.
This section also includes information about our work in protecting the city’s wildlife and local nature reserves preserving our sites of archaeological heritage.
