Courses and training

The Commercial Services Unit of Environmental Regulation Service operates a range of courses to support businesses in complying with legal duties. They are also designed for members of the public who wish to obtain more knowledge in these areas, particularly food hygiene, which is just as relevant in the home as it is for a business.

Our tutors are all experienced and are either Environmental Health Officers or have experience in industry. This gives our training a well-balanced approach reflecting the needs of businesses. The Chartered Institute of Environmental Health (CIEH) is the awarding body for all of the courses we run, they are the largest provider of such courses.

Our courses are designed to allow progression from Foundation (now called Level 2) up to Advanced in the fields of food safety and health and safety. Our current portfolio of courses is shown below.

Click on these links to see individual course details and prices. Some courses will only be run when there are sufficient numbers of candidates interested. Please contact us for current dates and availability.

Student feedback has identified an excellent quality of tutoring, with 95% of students rating the service as good or excellent. To ensure quality we are subject to audits from the CIEH and the Learning Skills Council.

If you are from a business and would like individual courses run for you please contact us. Costs may be negotiated, depending on the numbers of candidates and the type of course.
