EasyLet

EasyLet is an exciting new professional rental management service run by Plymouth City Council's Empty Homes Team in partnership with Plymouth Homes4Let (PH4L).

EasyLet offers a fast tenant finder service, matching private landlords with suitable tenants to minimise void periods. Landlords benefit from competitive market rents linked to the local housing allowance (LHA) and a full property and tenancy management service delivered by PH4L.

The Empty Homes Team offers interest free loans for landlords to bring vacant properties up to the Decent Homes Standard. The loans are repaid over a period of up to five years and are subject to availability.

Other benefits include:

• A deposit equivalent to one month’s rent, or deposit guarantee
• Regular property inspections
• Arranging of annual Gas Safe inspections
• Arranging of an initial energy efficiency inspection
• Access to dedicated tenancy support workers
• A comprehensive inventory with digital photographs
• Free friendly and professional advice to help bring properties up to the Decent Homes Standard
• Ethical business practices

Cabinet Member for Planning, Strategic Housing and Economic Development, Councillor Ted Fry said: "This is a significant attempt to bridge the gap between housing need and accessibility to the private sector.

We acknowledge that there is a shortage of homes in the city and we hope EasyLet will go some way towards offering people a unique alternative.

There are private landlords who can provide decent accommodation to those in housing need and we hope EasyLet will make it easier for both landlords and tenants to find each other."
