Offer document
Investment Opportunity of a lifetime
We have sent all tenants a copy of the Housing Transfer offer document.which sets out our proposals for the transfer of all its homes to Plymouth Community Homes.
Plymouth Community Homes is a new, not-for-profit, local housing association, which has been set up with the help of the Council.
Plymouth Community Homes plans to carry out a £168 million investment programme to tenants’ homes in the first five years after transfer. The offer document explains how the money will be spent and gives details of the Plymouth Community Homes Standard. This includes, where appropriate:
- 15,000 homes to have new high security front and back doors with five lever mortice locks and a choice of colours
- 14,000 new fitted kitchens including a choice of colours for unit doors, worktops and tiles
- 14,000 new bathrooms with over bath electric showers and a colour choice for tiles, flooring and decoration
- 5,000 homes to have central heating systems with energy efficient boilers
- 3,800 homes to have new double glazed windows
The document also includes details on what transfer would mean for key issues including:
- tenants’ rents
- rights
- tenant involvement
- services
We believe that transfer is the most realistic option for meeting the Decent Homes Standard and would also enable the continued improvement of services delivered to tenants.
Housing staff will be calling on tenants at home to make sure they have received their copy of the offer document. This is also an opportunity to ask staff about the proposal.
If you haven’t received your copy of the document, please contact the Stock Transfer team.
