Swimming pool admissions policy

Please note that this policy applies to all swimming pools run by Plymouth City Council, but that not all pools have learner pool facilities.

All of the requirements below are irrespective of the child’s swimming ability:

• Children under 8 years old - must be accompanied by a responsible adult at least 16 years of age
• Children between 5 and 8 years old - one adult may accompany up to two children between 5 and 8 years old in the main pool and learner pool
• Children under 5 years old - main pool - one adult may accompany one child under 5 years old in the main pool
• Children under 5 years old - learner pool - one adult may accompany up to two children under 5 years old in the learner pool only
