Preparation
When you get your new Windows XP PC or laptop there will be certain settings that will not move automatically with your personal files and folders from your old machine.
Please read all the pages within this section; it is your responsibility to ensure any customisations you use for work purposes are copied onto your new machine. Each page tells you what you should do before the new machine arrives to save the settings, and how to copy these settings onto the new PC or laptop.
All the instructions are also in 'storing your personal settings before the move to WINDOWS XP', which can be downloaded from the documents table below.
Any data that you hold on the C: drive will also be lost. All data files relating to Plymouth City Council business must be stored on the S: drive. Please be aware that all data files not currently stored on the S: or F: drives must be moved. See 'saving documents to the network' in the documents table below for instructions on where to save documents.
