Limousines
The Council will licence limousines and other special event vehicles that carry up to eight passengers. Vehicles that carry more than eight passengers fall outside of the licensing provisions that can be applied by this Council. Larger vehicles are dealt with by Vehicle and Operator Services Agency (VOSA).
Plymouth City Council Taxi Enforcement Team is working with Vehicle and Operator Services Agency (VOSA) and Devon and Cornwall Police to promote passenger safety, particularly during the ‘prom’ season. Agencies do patrol during this time to ensure that limousines are roadworthy and that their drivers are appropriately licensed.
Parents in Plymouth are advised to make sure that any vehicle hired to transport their children on this special night is properly licensed by the Council or VOSA.
Prior to hiring a limousine please read the leaflet below.
