Ms Deborah Osborne

Born in Totnes, Devon, Deborah was raised for the first five years on the Delamore Estate, Cornwood, under the ownership of Mr and Mrs Parker. Aged five Deborah moved to a property in the main village of Cornwood with her parents and brother Nicholas, and she and her brother attended Cornwood C of E Primary School. Living in the next street to her grandmother Mrs Dorothy Grace Osborne (Nee Walk deceased) theirs was a close family with stability.

Deborah was later educated at Ivybridge Community College. On leaving school she gained employment with Plymouth and South Devon Co-operative, where she was a Shop Steward and Health and Safety Rep under branch A146. During this time Deborah was privileged to attend Conference at the Winter Gardens, Blackpool, for five consecutive years.

Deborah gained education under USDAW in the field of Employment Law and Health and Safety. Later she gained employment with St Peters Convent as a Care Assistant where she went on to gain NVQ2 and NVQ3 in Health and Social Care. Employment Law, Legislation and Health and Safety training lead to Deborah becoming a Health and Safety Rep, and was to become good grounding, support and knowledge to her when she was certificated two years ago as a Manual Handling Trainer for St Peters Convent.

Deborah lives with her partner Mark of 14 years. She also has a Springer Spaniel called ‘Splint’ and a cat called ‘Lucifer’. Deborah has a love of walking with her four legged friend, and enjoys nothing more than a good walk over Dartmoor – you can take the girl out of Dartmoor but…

Deborah has a keen view on local politics and was helpful to Councillor Mike Wright during his election as a Ward Councillor. Deborah says she is both honoured and privileged to be asked to be Lady Mayoress and consort to the newly elected Lord Mayor, and states she will endeavour to carry out her duties in a professional manner.
