Civil wedding ceremonies

We offer you flexibility for your wedding day. You have the choice of three licensed rooms for the ceremony within the house plus the option of an 'outdoor' wedding in the Summer House located in the Earls Garden:

The Great Hall

This stunning marble floored central room has an imposing staircase - a magnificent entrance for a bride. The seating in the hall is theatre style and will seat up to 80 people. To give you more flexibility and the opportunity to increase your guest list, the gallery is available for hire and can accommodate a further 40 people standing.

The Drawing Room

A very light and gracious room with magnificent aspects on three sides. The drawing room has splendid views into the Earl's garden and beyond to Plymouth Sound. The seating is theatre style and can seat up to 80 people.

The Library

A delightful room for a smaller group, the library has a dual aspect with views on the Earl's garden as well as Plymouth Sound. We recommend a maximum of 30 guests for this venue.

In addition we have a beautiful grand piano which can be used as musical accompaniment to your ceremony no matter which room you choose.

Viewing

You are very welcome to make an appointment to come to the House and discuss with the wedding co-ordinator your dreams and how we can help to achieve them.

Bookings

Check the availability of your chosen date with St Germans Superintendent Registrar at Saltash, by contacting Cornwall's Registration Service on 0300 1234 181 and then with us at Mount Edgcumbe House. If your date is available, send your booking form which is available from the wedding information brochure in the documents table below, to Mount Edgcumbe House.

Although we endeavour to maintain the latest availability information, please check with Mount Edgcumbe House before submitting your booking form.

When the House is closed, October to March, weddings can be held on any day by arrangement with the House and the Registry Office in Saltash.

Receptions

There are two options for receptions at Mount Edgcumbe, a marquee on the West Lawn of the House or the Orangery Restaurant in the formal gardens. The choice is yours.
