The Cottonian Collection
Take a fascinating glimpse into the achievements of an 18th century English connoisseur.
With oil paintings, Old Master and English drawings, watercolours and around seven thousand fine prints The Cottonian Collection is your chance to see the legacy of an outstanding art collection assembled by Charles Rogers (1711 to 1784).
The Cottonian Collection also features family portraits, prints and memorabilia relating to Sir Joshua Reynolds - the Plymouth-born founder member of the Royal Academy and an important figure in British art.
Things to look out for:
- Work by Plymouth University’s 18th Century Studies MA students connected to our ‘Women in Art’ Exhibition is now on display in this gallery.
Visit the official Cottonian Collection website for more information.
