Directions

There are a number of different ways to get to the Museum as we are right near the heart of the city centre. Here are some suggested routes. Go to multimap and type in PL4 8AJ for a map containing all the street references mentioned below. From Marsh Mills:

Take the A374 signposted for the city centre. This will take you along the Embankment (on your left hand side) to the Cattedown roundabout. Filter left at the roundabout onto Exeter Street, still following signs for the city centre.

For on-street parking on Tavistock Place and Regent Street or longer-stay parking at the Regent Street car park take the third exit from the Charles Cross roundabout (with the ruined church) on to Hampton Street and turn left at the top. For parking in the Drake Circus shopping centre take the second exit and then follow the signs for the car park on the left.

From the north of the city:

Take the A386 (Tavistock Road), following the signs for the city centre. At the Manadon roundabout take the first exit on to the Parkway to the large Marsh Mills roundabout (Ford Vospers and Novotel on your left). From here take the A374 signposted for the city centre.

This will take you along the Embankment (on your left hand side) to the Cattedown roundabout. Filter left at the roundabout onto Exeter Street, still following signs for the city centre. For on-street parking on Tavistock Place and Regent Street or longer-stay parking at the Regent Street car park take the third exit from the Charles Cross roundabout (with the ruined church) on to Hampton Street and turn left at the top. For parking in the Drake Circus shopping centre take the second exit and then follow the signs for the car park on the left.

From the Torpoint Ferry:

Go up Ferry Road (A374) and turn left at the traffic lights on to Park Avenue (B3396). Turn right at the next set of traffic lights and drive right to the top of Albert Road. Turn left at the mini roundabout and drive through Stoke Village (Devonport Road) going straight on through the 3 sets of traffic lights on to Milehouse Road. At the main junction opposite the Britannia pub, filter right and follow the signs for the city centre.

This route will take you down Alma Road (A386) with the bus depot on your right and Central Park on your left. Go straight across at the Pennycomequick roundabout onto Saltash Road. Go up the hill past the train station on your left. Take the second exit at the next roundabout onto Coburg Street (A374). Filter round to the right and then follow the signs for the Drake Circus carpark on the right.

Alternatively, get into the left hand lane and drive down Charles Street to the Charles Cross roundabout (with the ruined church). Take the first exit on to Hampton Street and turn left at the top for on-street parking on Tavistock Place and Regent Street or longer-stay parking at the Regent Street car park.

From the Saltash Bridge:

Travel away from the tolls along the Parkway (A38) and take the first exit on to Weston Mill Drive (A3064). At the end of this road turn left at the traffic lights on to Wolseley Road. Go straight across at the roundabout and up the hill. At the traffic lights go straight across on to Alma Road (A386), following the signs for the city centre.

This route will take you down Alma Road (A386) with the bus depot on your right and Central Park on your left. Go straight across at the Pennycomequick roundabout onto Saltash Road.
