Drawn to Turner
This follow up to the Drawn to the Valley work displayed in our Discovery Centre in summer 2006 featured more creative responses by some of the artists who had attended our Turner Trails.
The display ran from December 2006 until January 2007 and formed part of the Museum’s festive temporary exhibitions - all of which aimed to showcase the high quality of art and craftsmanship in the region.
The display featured a small selection of work including:
- sketches by Masako Whitehouse
- an oil painting by Teresa Wicksteed
- etchings by Mary Gillett and Marcia Pire
- an acrylic painting by Mark Fielding
- calligraphy by Celia Lister
- pewters by Melanie Guy
- Fresco Buono watercolours by Clive Pethick
The Drawn to the Valley Artists live and work on both sides of the River Tamar and are united by their passion for the Tamar Valley - an area which has inspired artists since JMW Turner’s visits in the early nineteenth century. For more information about the group visit the Drawn to the Valley website.
