Trains serving Plymouth
Plymouth has one central rail station situated on North Road, which is just a short walk from the main City Centre. A map of the main Plymouth rail station can be found on the Transport and Road section of the Plymouth on a Map website. There are some smaller local rail stations in Plymouth, including Devonport, Keyham and St Budeaux, but services for these are generally less regular than at the main station.
Penzance - Plymouth - London
The Night Riviera service between Penzance, Plymouth and London provides a comfortable and enjoyable overnight service to London Paddington.
There are two high speed services each way Monday to Friday between London and Plymouth. The 3.07 hour journey time is seen as pivotal in promoting Plymouth as an accessible destination for both business and leisure travellers.
These trains leave London Paddington at 10.06am (arriving in Plymouth 1.06pm) and 12.06pm (arriving in Plymouth 3.06pm). From Plymouth, high speed trains leave at 5.53am (arriving in Paddington at 9am) and 10.44am (arriving in Paddington at 1.44pm).
There are a total of 15 daily services from Plymouth and London Monday to Friday, and 16 services from London to Plymouth.
Plymouth - Ivybridge
There are nine daily services from Plymouth to Ivybridge (with the first train leaving Plymouth at 8.06am), and nine services from Ivybridge to Plymouth (with the first train leaving Ivybridge at 7.56am).
The current level of service on the Tamar Valley line between Plymouth and Gunnislake is retained including the early morning Dockyard departure from Calstock.
Trains serving South East Cornwall
Services are available between stations in South East Cornwall (Liskeard, Menheniot, St Germans, and Saltash). More information on local railway lines and rail excursions from and near Plymouth can be found on our Community Rail page.
