Scheme 1

Opening a second entrance into the George Junction park and ride site to allow access from Plymbridge Road.

  • The second entrance to the George Junction park and ride was officially opened on the 25 June 2009.

Consultation and public engagement

  • An article covering the opening of the second entrance to the park and ride and the launch of the new bus service 60/60A (linking the park and ride to Derriford Hospital) appeared in the Herald following the event.   • An event to encourage people travelling into Plymouth to use the park and ride was held in Tavistock on Saturday 6 February. The press release for the event can be found below:

Scheme 2

Supporting the 'Northern Connect' Taxibus service which links Northern Business parks with the main bus network and the 'Tamar Link' which connects the Rame Peninsula with Derriford Hospital.

  • The Northern Connect is a service operated by Target Travel and Taxifast which connects business parks along the Northern Corridor with the transport hubs at Derriford Hospital and the George Junction Public Transport Interchange, thereby increasing the ability of people to access the business parks by public transport. Consultation and public engagement

  • Northern Corridor businesses took an active part in shaping the tender for the service in 2007 and comments on how to further improve the service are welcomed. Please use the contact details on this page.


Scheme 3

A new bus lane at the exit to Derriford Hospital to improve journey time and reliability for buses serving the hospital.

  • A new bus lane (delivered through road widening) on the exit from Derriford Hospital was completed in March 2010. The final stage of the works, applying the red surface treatment to the bus lane, will be completed in May 2010.

Consultation and public engagement

  • Stakeholders in the Derriford area were given advanced notification of the works and a press release, found below was issued notifying people of the nature and duration of the works.
