Frequently asked questions

How do I book an interpreter or translator?

Just complete our online request form.

How much will it cost?

For an interpreter, prices vary depending on the skill level and length of time you need them for. Please see our price list for the costs per hour and any extras.

For a translation, the minimum charge is £15 which covers up to 150 words. If your document is longer, then a quote is worked out based on the number of words and whether formatting is required. For a detailed quote, please email the document to us - we will never send your document out for translation without your agreement.

How do I get a document translated?

You can email us your document and we will give you a detailed quote and timescale for delivery. We can translate documents into over 30 languages, and can also translate from another language into English.

I need an interpreter today - is that possible?

We normally ask for 48 working hours notice for requests. This is because we work with freelance linguists and their availability varies. However, we will try our best to arrange someone for you - please call us before completing our online request form.

What should I put in the 'order reference' and 'client reference' fields on the online request form?

We suggest putting in a budget code or name for the order reference and a patient reference, client or case identification number into the client reference. You can leave these fields blank and carry on completing the form, however they are useful for invoicing purposes. If you have a reference that you cannot fit into either of those fields, please use the field later in the form called 'assistance required'.

I am a linguist and I need to complete my first invoice - how do I do that?

If you have your own invoice template, please complete it and send it to the customer. If you don't have your own invoice template, below is an example.

Any invoice must contain all of the details in the example version - you can find the information in the email that has confirmed the job. Then send the completed invoice to the address on the confirmation.

If you would like us to check your invoice before you send it please email a copy to us.

Please complete our online enrolment form. When we receive it we will check the details, contact references and if appropriate arrange an interview.
