Warren Point County Wildlife Site
Warren Point is located in the north west of Plymouth adjacent to the River Tamar. The site consists of a semi-circular route bordering an industrial site and boasts breathtaking views of the Tamar Estuary. The site covers 4.4ha and is owned and managed by Plymouth City Council and is accessible to the public. A variety of habitats are present including woodlands, grassland and small areas of saltmarsh.
The site is designated as a County Wildlife Site because of the 18 ancient woodland vascular plant indicators recorded in the woodland and the 12 notable plant species for Devon recorded in the area of saltmarsh: sea aster, sea purslane, sea couch grass, English scurvy grass, saltmarsh rush, common saltmarsh grass, glasswort, greater sea spurrey, annual seablite, orpine, lesser sea spurrey and red goosefoot.
If you have visited the site please send in your photographs and we will put the best on this site.
