At Plymouth City Council we are committed to attracting, developing and retaining talent.

We have made the top 100 apprenticeship employer list 3 years in a row. We were the winner in 2017 and a shortlisted finalist in 2018

Apprenticeships

An apprenticeship is a real job with training which allows you to earn while you learn. You will gain a nationally recognised qualification.

Apprenticeships give you the opportunity to get valuable work experience. It could lead to

  • full time employment,
  • higher level apprenticeship

We regularly have exciting apprenticeship opportunities in different departments across the Council.  Most apprenticeships start at NVQ2. Sometimes the apprenticeship can be extended to cover NVQ3 and NVQ4.
