The government has issued an alert that thousands of defibrillators could fail to work when needed because of a design fault. The warning urges people to check the functioning of two widely distributed models made by the same US manufacturer, Physio-Control, with approximately 2,570 devices, either LIFEPAK CR PLUS or LIFEPAK EXPRESS defibrillators, thought to be affected.
