A bulky item is something that's too big to fit in your bin. We can collect it from only £20.

As a householder, you must take reasonable steps to ensure any household waste produced on your property is only transferred to an authorised person. An authorised person includes the local authority that provides your normal waste collection service.

When to put your bulky waste collection out

Please put your bulky waste collection on the kerbside from 6.30pm the night before your collection day.

If you have a business that needs waste collecting read our trade waste collection page for more information.

£20 for up to three large items or £40 for up to six large items. Some items, such as three-seater settees, double cookers or extra-long ladders, count as two items due to their size and weight.

If you receive income support, housing benefit, council tax support or pension credits you get two free collections a year. These collections must be booked separately for collection on different days.

Using a commercial waste collection service

If you use a commercial waste collection service, you need to check whether the business is an authorised carrier or exempt from registering as a waste carrier. You can check whether a waste carrier is registered on the Environment Agency’s public register.
