Healthcare Waste/Clinical waste and sharps

We can collect clinical waste from your home free of charge if you need to dispose of the following:

  • Needles (in sharps box)
  • Infectious dressings

Please note - Catheter bags, incontinance pads or non-infectious dressings do not require clinical waste collections, these items should be wrapped and disposed of in your brown waste bin. To assist with this additional waste you can request an additional small brown waste container. Healthcare waste is not accepted by our recycling centres.

You can request a clinical waste collection using the button below. Please be aware when using the form, only new clients to the scheme should select the 'new container' option. Existing clients should select the 'Container Exchange' option.

For information on how to safely use sharps boxes and dispose of used needles, please visit the NHS website.

We start collecting clinical waste from 7.30am on your agreed collection day and aim to finish all collections by 4pm. To help us collect your clinical waste you must ensure your waste container is in the agreed collection point before collections begin, and if you have arranged to have your clinical waste collected from inside your property you must make sure someone is present to give our collection team access.
