We hold the registers for all births, deaths and marriages/civil partnerships in Plymouth from 1837.
You can buy additional certificates when you register a birth, marriage or death, or you can order a copy of a certificate after registration. Both our next-day priority service and five day standard service are available online.
Online applications and payments are the quickest and simplest way to apply for a copy certificate. If you're unable to make an online transaction please call 01752 268331 for advice and support.

Plymouth Registration Service no longer accepts cash or cheque payments and can only take payments by card.
If all the required information is provided, we can issue your certificates within five working days (not including Saturday and Sunday). Family History certificates will be ready within 10 working days (not including Saturday and Sunday).
If you need a certificate quickly, we can provide a next working day service for £35. This service includes one certificate and 1st class postage. You can choose to either collect your certificate from the Register Office or have it delivered by Royal Mail first class post. If you are collecting from the Register Office certificates will be available after 3pm the next working day. If you have requested postage, certificates will be sent out at the first available opportunity after certificates have been produced.
