Director of Resources (S151)
As a key role within the newly shaped Corporate Management Team, the Director of Resources (S151 Officer) will report to the Chief Executive, providing strategic and organisational leadership, vision, and direction ensuring a clear focus on all financial matters and ensuring that appropriate strategies and delivery vehicles are in place to deliver the best financial outcomes as well as the delivery of a transformative customer experience across all of the Council’s services.
You will play a critical role in ensuring that the Council has the skills, talent and resources to deliver our priorities set out in the Corporate Plan. A natural leader, you will lead the enabling functions of the Council to ensure we are a high performing organisation that builds on the great legacy Plymouth City is renowned for.

Director of Children’s Services
Reporting to the Chief Executive, and acting as Principal Advisor to the Council in relation to education, safeguarding and children’s social care, you will provide strategic organisational leadership to deliver the vision and priorities of the Council with particular reference to responsibility for championing the needs and aspirations of children, young people and their families.
You will be a system leader who has the natural ability to bring partners and stakeholders together around a common purpose for our children, young people and families. You will have the gravitas and a forward thinking mindset to lead our Children’s Services.

Service Director Education Participation and Skills
Reporting to the Director of Children’s Services, you will be an experienced senior leader in Education, Early Help and Inclusion Services with the experience, skills and knowledge to lead these services within the Council.
This is an exciting time to join the authority and to contribute towards the continued improvements in outcomes for children and young people in Plymouth.

Service Director Children Young People & Families
Reporting to the Director of Children’s Services, you will act as the principal policy and professional advisor on the children, youth and families matters to Directors, the Chief Executive and Members, as well as lead on the development and implementation of the Council’s strategy for commissioned services for children, youth and families, alongside health agencies and the Director of Integrated Commissioning.
You will be a credible and trusted leader who can inspire teams and the workforce to place children, young people and their families at the heart of service delivery.

Head of Legal Services
Reporting to the Assistant Chief Executive you will act as the Council’s Monitoring Officer, and the senior responsible officer for legal matters across the Council. You will be an active member of the Council’s leadership team, providing advice and guidance to elected members and officers whilst delivering transformation across the Council.
You will be an inspiring team player with the ability to offer high support and challenge, helping to shape and drive the Corporate Plan whilst enabling us to explore new partnerships and opportunities within our city.
