Coronavirus (COVID-19) Information about the City Change Fund

Update on the City Change Fund

Coronavirus (COVID-19) is affecting all our lives and we're seeing many projects come forward from businesses seeking financial support to help them stay afloat during this difficult time.

Unfortunately the fund which is pledged by Plymouth City Council through Crowdfund Plymouth (the City Change Fund) is constrained by legislation which states that it should be spent on projects which help mitigate the impact of development in the city: 'The provision, improvement, replacement, operation, or maintenance of infrastructure or anything else that is concerned with addressing the demands that development places on an area. (Regulation 59C of the CIL regulations 2013)'. This means that whilst the fund is still active and projects which meet the Council's criteria can still receive a pledge, projects which don't fit the criteria, including projects which are solely to help businesses stay afloat during this difficult time are unlikely to meet our criteria and receive a pledge.

The government has set out its own support package for businesses and we encourage projects seeking support to visit our Coronavirus (COVID-19) information page for the most up to date information on the Council's response to the Coronavirus (COVID-19) and for details on what support is available for businesses.

You can view the Council's terms and conditions and criteria for the City Change Fund on our City Change Fund page.
